Litter Pick 15th April 2018
Well done and a very big thank you to the pickers, the refreshment providers & the driver 🙂 we managed to pick 14 bags of rubbish from the verges and get back to the farm before it rained. Lots of plastic bottles, glass bottles, drink cans, single use coffee cups, string, sweet & chocolate bar wrappers, polystyrene, a cricket ball, a string of Xmas tree lights, sandwich wrappers, an L plate, a P plate, a sock…. All will be collected by WLDC. Biggest thanks go to Anne T…aylor for hosting, providing pots & pots of tea and providing us with a driver to collect all the heavy bags in her van. Liz’s scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream fought an impressive battle with the lemon drizzle, whilst the walnut cookies, flapjack, brownies, carrot cake and buttered plum bread were equally efficacious in replacing the calories burned by walking the length & breadth of the village, clambering up & down verges whilst carrying rubbish bags. Very good work everyone – see you for another session in the autumn?
